- raise the profile of languages and raise awareness of the advantages of language learning;
- motivate and inspire groups that are currently under-represented in language learning;
- increase support for language learners beyond the mainstream statutory provision, thus increasing and widening participation;
- improve access to language learning by exploring ways of overcoming practical barriers.
We are very interested in projects:
- where organisations join forces to achieve the above objectives;
- which involve employers;
- where the Nuffield contribution is to be matched by funds from other sources;
- which include partners from outside the UK.
Projects must also be innovative, practical, generalisable and reflective.
Go to Programme in Action to find out the rationale behind the Programme's activities.
Go to Project Grants for further information on the grant programme. The Guide for Applicants, which is available to download above left, gives full details of the type of project we are interested in supporting and how to apply for a grant.
